Maquabeak Park, Coquitlam, B.C. Canada

Maquabeak Park is situated on the north bank of
the Fraser River, off Burbidge Street, off of
United Boulevard in Coquitlam, B.C.
There is free boat launching, and many
Coquitlam residents come here to fish, bike or
walk away a
sunny, lazy afternoon.

The area has a spectacular view of the Fraser River,
and is dedicated to
Dorothy Macquabeak Francis (1912-1990).
Dorothy was an aboriginal Canadian
who worked for over 50 years to
help preserve the culture and
spirituality of her people.
Dorothy was given the
Order of Canada
on January 11, 1978.

If the area does not put you in awe,
Dorothy's lifelong pursuit to
preserve her individuality does.
A beautiful spot for a
reminder of this beautiful woman.

can you launch a ski boat and waterski or wakeboard here? i'm looking for a spot that's not crowded ... i'll only be there early in the morning, so I won't be disturbing anyone's day of relaxation - promise!

Hi Marcia ... I have seen ski boats launching from this place, but to be honest I haven't seen anyone water skiing on Fraser River.
