Cold Temperatures, Vancouver, BC, December 4, 2009

There is a Special Weather Statement
out for Vancouver tonight.
The wind is making it cold.
I think we are having it
luckier than the rest of
Canada right now.
Much of the country is
under Winter Storm Warnings.Lots of snow and below zero temperatures for them.
I honestly can't figure out
all the different levels of warnings,
statements, issues and advisories.
A statement is not a warning,
but something to take notice of.
An advisory is more important than a statement.
Then there's "weather watches"
thrown into the bunch to
really confuse us further.
For me, its a 3 layer
day. Two layers for warmth
and one layer to keep the wind off.
I wonder if that falls under a watch, statement
or warning?

Heat Wave in British Columbia, Canada July 2009

Stave Lake in British Columbia, Canada
is another man made lake located
in the Fraser Valley Region of the province.
With her crystal clear waters, mountain
backdrops, and several km's of jaw gaping
hiking trails, she surely has something to please
everyone.

She is also a mecca for
all ages trying to escape the heat
wave in BC.
With temperatures in the high 30's C, or
for those of you that think in Fahrenheit, it's,well, it's hot.
Nice hot, though.
It wasn't too many months
ago that we were digging out
from a record snowfall here in British Columbia.

We humans seem to be very fragile when
it comes to temperatures.
Something we have little control over,
unless its billowing out of car vents.

And this is even before we
talk about last nights spectacular
lightening storm here in British Columbia.

Made me stop right in my tracks and just stare in wonder.

I can hear Mother Nature giggling at us now.

Cold Temperatures in British Columbia, Canada for March, 2009

Vancouver is beautiful in
any weather.
These cold temperatures are no exception.
And no doubt, its cold here right now.
With the added new snow that
fell on the weekend and into Monday,

it has again transformed the scenery
into a winter wonderland.
The coastal mountains iced with a new
frosting of snow are something out of
a fairy tale.
And listening to the ice cracking on
the local rivers is a totally new
experience for me.
I believe Mother Nature is
showing us how to stop and
behold the beauty, even if she
has to stop us dead in our tracks to
do it.

Now, I need to go thaw out.
