Record High Temperatures in Vancovuer, British Columbia for July 7th, 2010

Record high temperatures
hit Vancouver and the Lower Mainland today.

After what seems like weeks of being
under water with grey skies, rain and cold weather,
the sun is a very welcome respite.
The forecast is for even warmer temperatures
during the week, peaking on the weekend.
The city of Squamish reached a
sizzling 35.0 C today.
For the Fahrenheit people, that
is 95 F.
Toasty to say the least.
White Rock surpassed it's old record for
high temperatures dating back to 1929.

Time for a nice cold brewskie or two.
I think I'll put my feet in the tub of ice that
are cooling them off. Who cares about
social niceties.

Record HIgh Temperatures for British Columbia, Canada July 29, 2009

No doubt about it. Vancouver is in the midst of
record breaking high temperatures.
39 Celcius at the Vancouver Airport yesterday.
That's not even factoring in the humidex.
Humidex is both temperature and humidity
added together, since the temperature
isn't the only thing to make you feel
sticky. The humidity is sure
to give the old sweat glands
a good work out.

This is not good news for the forest fires
raging across the province.
The fire hazard is running on "extreme"
right now.

No kidding.

I've decided I like my fan.
"Minimizing energy use"
doesn't relate to them.
Or air conditioners.

I'm not even going to start
looking at the air quality.

I think my fan is calling me again.

Heat Wave in British Columbia, Canada July 2009

Stave Lake in British Columbia, Canada
is another man made lake located
in the Fraser Valley Region of the province.
With her crystal clear waters, mountain
backdrops, and several km's of jaw gaping
hiking trails, she surely has something to please
everyone.

She is also a mecca for
all ages trying to escape the heat
wave in BC.
With temperatures in the high 30's C, or
for those of you that think in Fahrenheit, it's,well, it's hot.
Nice hot, though.
It wasn't too many months
ago that we were digging out
from a record snowfall here in British Columbia.

We humans seem to be very fragile when
it comes to temperatures.
Something we have little control over,
unless its billowing out of car vents.

And this is even before we
talk about last nights spectacular
lightening storm here in British Columbia.

Made me stop right in my tracks and just stare in wonder.

I can hear Mother Nature giggling at us now.
