Whistler, British Columbia

 North of Vancouver lies the
beautiful resort town of Whistler.
British Columbia has amazingly
bold and beautiful scenery.
By far Whistler has its fair share
in both the bold and beautiful departments.
Home to skiers in the winter,
mountain bikers and hikers in the
spring and summer seasons,
Whistler and its adjacent mountain resort
Blackcomb has something to offer everyone.

Derby Reach Regional Park, Langley, BC

Derby Reach Regional Park
in Langley, British Columbia,
sits on the original site of the Fort Langley
trading post.
There are black cottonwood trees
located in the park, which you can
enjoy on your Fort-to-Fort Trail walk or cycle,
along with some pretty spectacular views of the
Golden Ears peaks.
I've been told that the road along Derby Reach
Park, Allard Crescent, is the oldest existing road
in British Columbia.
You can well imagine the people from the past
slowly wandering along this road in paradise,
taking in the views and dreaming of the
plentiful life to come.
With the sounds of songbirds and the whisper
of wind through the cottonwoods,
you are also transported back in time to
dream your own dreams.

Crippen Regional Park, Bowen Island, BC

Crippen Regional Park
on Bowen Island, BC
is home to some pretty incredible
looking trees.
A quick 20 minute ferry ride
from Vancouver brings you to
this idyllic island paradise.

Wandering through Crippen
Regional Park brings you to another
level of island life, one
draped in moss and history.
The island is named for
Captain John Bowen, who was considered
a pirate. Honest, I don't make this kind of thing up.

He was born in Bermuda, and
sailed with the likes of George Booth
and Nathanial North.
Their stories alone could fill
many volumes worth of swashbuckling legends
and pirate tales.

The trees whisper their ancient secrets
of glories past and tranquil splendors of the present.
I am drawn back over and over again to hear their
breathless whispers of legends.

Whtie Rock, BC, Canada

I've missed my bonding time
with Mother Nature lately,
seems life continually gets in
the way of just being.

The sting of salt air
and the eerie cry of the seagulls
should be bottled as a foolproof
cure for the human soul.
It works perfectly every time.
A few minutes spent around this
kind of tranquility as the sun sets
restores just about everything.

White Rock, BC, Canada

is such a place.
From the delicious
smell of fish and chips
along the promenade
to the soft slap of the evening tide
along the shore, she
has a bit of something
for everyone.

It just does not get any better than this.
